The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to help celebrate the town’s German heritage and Texas hospitality during Night In Old Fredericksburg, coming July 16 & 17, to Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg, Texas. This year will mark the festival’s 47th Anniversary!

Night In Old Fredericksburg is actually two nights and two days, showcasing the history, culture, food, and fun of this charming Hill Country community. Organizers have put together a weekend event guaranteed to stimulate all the senses and to delight folks of all ages. Revelers can listen and dance to nine different bands playing polka, show tunes, and country from the comfort of two covered stages. Acts include the world-famous Sauerkrauts, plus the popular Seven Dutchmen, Jodie Mikula Orchestra, the Dujka Brothers, the Shiner Hobo Band, Fabulous Six, Mark Halata & Texavia and the Red Ravens, as well as Almost Patsy Cline.

Night In Old Fredericksburg serves up a multicultural menu of tasty food and refreshing drinks. German favorites include sauerkraut and wurst served sizzling from the grill. Fans of Mexican food can sink their teeth into fajitas and tacos, and hungry visitors will find enthusiastic cooks serving up delicious burgers, fries, turkey legs, and other festival favorites.

2010 Fourth of July SPANGE DANGLE

Wow, the Fourth of July is almost here and boy do we have an event for you. The Fourth of July SPANGE DANGLE EVENT, presented by the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce, is ramping up for this years festivities. It will begin with the Washer Pitching starting at 1 pm. Not only will the winners receive the normal payouts but they will also receive a $500 'Add On' sponsored by the Chamber. The 2010 Spange Dangle Parade will begin at 6 pm starting at the First United Methodist Church on Pecan Street going west making a right on the 356 Spur going north to the Blanco County Fairgrounds through the back gate of the Fair Grounds on Old River Road. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies will be given to the Most Patriotic floats. The awards will be given at 7:30 pm at the outside pavilion at the Fairgrounds. Everyone is invited to be a participant of the Spange Dangle Parade or a spectator. Once on the Blanco County Fairgrounds there will be plenty of entertainment. Live Music will begin at 7 pm. A mixture of the Bobby Beal Band & Soul Patch will be playing, moon walks, a clown circulating around the fair grounds, a Longhorn bull that you can get your picture taken with if your not afraid to sit on it and possibly a Native American wedding reenactment and other demonstrations of the native American Culture. Most activities will take place from 7 pm on.

Silver K in Johnson City will be hosting an acoustic performance by the Bill Hearne Trio starting at 8pm. Cover is only $5. It is all about the music, but food & beverages will be available as well.

The GOOD OLE BOYS Texas Dance Band will play at the Texas 46 Bar & Grill (Corner of HWY 46 & 2 Sun Valley Dr, Spring Branch 78070) from 8pm-12 midnight - NO ADMISSION.
