The Waller Independent School District (“ISD”) Assistant Superintendent for Administration, Danny Twardowski, is selected as the new Waller ISD Superintendent effective July 1, 2010. The Waller ISD Board of Trustees announced their sole finalist selection on January 12th, and formally voted on the appointment of Danny Twardowski to the Superintendent’s position at the February 8, 2010 Regular Called Board Meeting.
The Waller ISD Board President, David Kaminski, said,” Danny has been instrumental in the successes and improvements in Waller ISD since his arrival in 1997. He is highly regarded by the staff, community and educators across the State. He has worked closely with Richard McReavy and the School Board and is intimately familiar with the School Board's vision. We are excited that Danny has accepted the Superintendent's position and we look forward to continued district-wide success.”
Danny Twardowski has been serving as Assistant Superintendent for Administration since 2002, and previously served as Waller High School Principal since May, 1997. Twardowski came to Waller ISD with 20 years experience in education, working in the Spring Independent School District as a Middle School Principal, High School Assistant Principal, Teacher, Coach, and Assistant Athletic Director. Twardowski received a B.S. degree in Physical Education from Texas Christian University and a Masters degree in Education Administration from Sam Houston State College.
Present Waller ISD Superintendent, Richard McReavy, said, “I am pleased with the Board’s decision. Danny Twardowski is a perfect fit for this position with his long history working in education. He is an invaluable asset to this school district. I am confident he will continue to lead this school district as a successful teaching and learning environment that encourages overall student achievement.” The Superintendent vacancy was posted after McReavy announced his upcoming retirement plans after serving 8 years as Superintendent, and 40 years total in education.
Twardowski said, “Waller ISD is an outstanding school district which has continually improved under the direction of Richard McReavy and the Waller ISD School Board. The enthusiasm and team effort of our school board, staff, parents, and the Waller ISD community creates a positive learning environment for our students. I am honored to transition into the Superintendent’s position, and look forward to serving our students, staff, parents, and community.”
