In a shocking news, it was reported that the US planes are spying on the mobile phones of the US citizens. Until now we were only aware of the fact that the NSA is spying on us by putting a backdoor in the cellular and Internet networks, however, this new report has uncovered parts that were hidden. The U.S. Marshals Service allegedly operates a number of Cessna aircrafts that are equipped with state-of-the-art equipments that can act as cellphone tower. When connected, government can listen to your phone calls, and read texts you sent and received.

It is being said that the government is doing it to stop any threat towards the national security, however, thousands of innocent citizens surrender their privacy over this. What’s been a two foot square box — ‘dirtbox’, officials have been using it to spy over the nation and tens of thousands of unsuspecting mobile users become a part of this for nothing.

According the newspaper, there is no confirmation about how many aircrafts fly across the country, but it has been reported that there are planes flying over most of the metro cities all the time. They are part of Boeing planes and are being integrated with some of the government planes. The ‘Dirtboxes’ that are installed in these planes identify themselves as the strongest signal to the mobile devices, which on reception takes the unique identification number of the device for further actions or investigation.

According to the reports, both the operating system from Apple and Google, which are built with advanced encryption standards, can’t stop ‘Dirtbox’ to take away your information. The method that has been used by the American government can also be considered as the ‘Man-In-The-Middle’ attack as the world knows it.

There has been no response from The Justice Department, which houses the Marshals Service.
