The electric car and space rocket tycoon, Elon Musk has proposed a plan to send Terminator style Humanoid on Mars by 2026. The time is 10 years lesser than the NASA’s plan to land Humans on the Red planet Mars.
“We should be on a path to creating a self-sustaining civilization on Mars. It will ensure the continued existence of humanity and life as we know it if there is a calamity on Earth, and it will be the greatest adventure in history,” Musk told CNBC.
SpaceX, the Space Exploration Technologies was founded by the Elon Musk in 2002. Since then it was the company’s motto to colonize the Mars within next 2 or 3 decades. And to achieve it, company is focusing on development of a Mars Colonial Transporter.
The development of SpaceX’s Mars Colonial Transporter (MCT) and its super-heavy launch vehicle will be a major focus of the company once Falcon Heavy and DragonCrew are flying regularly.
The super-heavy MCT lift launch vehicle will consist of one or three 10 meter-diameter cores and will use nine Raptor LOX/methane engines to power each core. It’s also intended to be reusable and will produce some 40 or 120 meganewtons of thrust at liftoff.
SpaceX currently employs 3,000 people, and private, automated, space missions to the International Space Station (ISS) are already underway.
This lift vehicle will be essential to bring travelers from Earth to orbit for a trip to Mars.
Mars One, another private group intent on landing a colony on Mars before NASA’s scheduled arrival, is planning on using the Falcon Heavy to delivery their equipment and crew into orbit.
Musk stated his belief that if our species does not establish a permanent residence on another world, we are merely marking time until an extinction-level event occurs, wiping out the human race.
Elon Musk have one other major concern regarding the evolvement of Artificial intelligence (A.I.) in coming years.
“There are some scary outcomes, and we should try to make sure the outcomes are good, not bad,” Musk said on Tuesday during a CNBC interview.
Not even Mars would be safe. “The A.I. would chase us there pretty quickly,” he said.
“It’s not from the standpoint of actually trying to make any investment return,” the 42-year-old serial entrepreneur explained. “It’s really, I like to just keep an eye on what’s going on with artificial intelligence. I think there is a potentially dangerous outcome there.”
The electric car company owner also talked about his another ambitious project, the Hyperloop, tube based transportation system and invited the interested investors to work with him on developing the hyperloop system.
