According some of the reports that have surfaced, Amazon ( NASDAQ: AMZN), Internet retail giant, is closing a deal with Twitch, an online streaming service, for around $1 Bn. Two people on the condition of the anonymity spoke about it that Amazon is looking forward to closing a deal with Twitch.
It is not the first time when news about Twitch acquisition has emerged, and a few reports suggest that Google and Yahoo also made few bids to acquire this streaming service. Twitch, unlike YouTube, is more famous among gamers as it allows them to stream their gameplay live on the Internet. It categorizes the games into few different categories such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota and more.
Twitch.tv is a whole new exciting service to watch the live gameplay of thousands of expert gamers among hundred of titles. The service is receiving a lot of fame these days and will eventually be listed in the hall of the fame along with YouTube and Vimeo.

However, the question of the day would be, what Amazon would do by acquiring a streaming service. Some analysts believe that the company will integrate it with AWS, also known as Amazon Web Service, to provide an online gaming experience to its users. The retail giant will probably eliminate the need of separate gaming console to play games.
