Apple today officially released their much awaited update for iPhones and iPads – the iOS 8. The update is available through iTunes and also users can update it through the phone itself by just checking the software update. The update is available for iPhone 4S and later, iPad 2 and later, any iPad Mini and the iPod Touch fifth generation.

Apple called the iOS 8 the ‘biggest update since the App Store’. Before updating the phones, users have to make a lot of free space because the software requires up to 5.7 GB of free space. The new update will bring a lot of new features, for example Apple HealthKit and HomeKit. HealthKit will keep a sharp eye on a user health related information, and it will also work closely with the Apple Watch. On the other hand, HomeKit will allow developers to produce applications for iPhone and iPad through which users will able to integrate with home automation gadgets, allowing them to have a better control over door locking, light dimming, and other home features. iOS 8 also brings the Handsoff which allows user to start a program on an iPhone and then finish it on the iPad or the iMac. Also, it will allow users to use third-party keyboard apps as well.

Apple iOS 8 is definitely the most advanced, easy to use, rich with features, and beautiful version of iOS to date. It will definitely give Android a run for their money, and with the introduction of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well, it will be a tough year for all the other Android OEM’s. Within just 24 hours, the pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus crossed 4 million, and also iPhone 6 production is not enough to meet the demand. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will know how good the new iPhone series performed in the market.
