Starting from today, in the US, the Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) users will encounter some of the changes in the upgraded Facebook for iPad app. The social networking giant made some necessary changes that will allow the screen to split in one small portion consisting trending topics.
Other than having a number of posts and status updates from friends, this new feature in the Facebook for iPad app will allow the users to see what is trending among friends and on the Facebook. It will show the latest trending videos according to the user’s preferences, such as region and the age group.
Facebook said that there are 70-percent people playing the Facebook connected games on the iPad, and so it has provided deep links to the games the user is already playing. Along with that, the app will also show the links to the most played and trending games in it.
Facebook will display short videos of games you might be interested in, later they can be played by signing in or by granting required permissions. Even though the games will be free to play, Facebook’s head of North American games partnerships Dan Morris said, “There will be ad units somewhere down the road. We definitely envision allowing developers to promote their apps with some ad element. But for now we’re just trying to do good for mobile developers and mobile gamers.”
Facebook has also provided the developers with necessary instruction so that they can develop games that can appear in the newly introduced area. It will help the developers gain more publicity for their games and users will have a great experience with the apps.
Facebook has also introduced the ads in the Facebook mobile apps. The ad is again of a game that a user might be interested in playing.
