Adding a few more responsibilities Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) has now added a new name in its top list. Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President at Google, is set to play some major roles in the company to work on Google+ and other products from the Internet giant. Previously the VP only had a significant position in some of the products, including Gmail and Android.
According to the Re/Code report, Sundar will now purview over the Google+, search, Google Adsense and Adwords, Maps, research and infrastructure. Co-Founder, Larry Page, that afternoon, sent out a note to all of the employees notifying about the changes that have been done in the company.
As we confirm that the Sundar Pichai is going to oversee most of the products from the Internet giant, we can assume that he can be the next CEO of Google. However, there is no word about it from the company.
Sundar Pichai has been on a steady rise since he joined the company back in the year 2004, and the biggest leap came in when Pichai was appointed as the head of Android, Google’s Operating System running across of billions of devices.
He is the man behind most of the successful products company has ever put on the Internet and has recently launched a new one called as Android One. The Android One is all about providing low-end Android smartphones in South Asian countries, including India. The OS running on these devices is free from any alteration or bloatware and is only controlled by the Google itself.
