HTC’s latest smartphone HTC One M8 Ace has been confirmed by the company’s Chinese division, putting widespread rumors to rest. The device will be inheriting the features from flagship HTC One M8. The feature setting it apart and lowering the price to a consumer-friendly level would be the handset being a plastic version of the current HTC One M8, with a lightweight and durable polycarbonate plastic shell.

The device has not been officially announced; however, HTC China revealed it when the official product page was activated on May 29. The handset would apparently be launched in China as the HTC One Vogue Edition on June 3oth in a range of colors including white, blue, black and red with a glossy plastic finish.

HTC China has not revealed what the customers will be paying for the handset.Earlier reports had suggested that HTC One M8, which was expected to be referred to as HTC One M8 Vogue Edition or HTC One M8 Advance as per recent reports, will hit the market with a $400 price tag. GforGames had claimed that HTC could announce the HTC One Ace early in June and have a mid to late June release date.

HTC One M8 Ace will share the flagship smartphone’s hardware, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system-on-chip (SoC) running at 2.5GHz. The HTC One M8 will also include a 5-megapixel front-facing webcam as that of the flagship device but the Duo Camera has been exchanged for a 13-megapixel rear sensor. Front-facing Boomsound speakers, Motion Launch gestures and Extreme power-saving mode are a few other features to look forward to. The display will apparently be the 5in, 1080p panel as in HTC One M8 Ace.

An alleged 5.5-inch flagship HTC One M8 Prime had grabbed the spotlight initially. HTC has reportedly cancelled its plans to unveil the much-awaited HTC One M8 Prime. Tipster evleaks tweeted that the alleged upcoming device is now postponed indefinitely. HTC One M8 Prime was expected to be a phone in the making that could be ready to take over the HTC One M8 with advanced hardware, a better screen resolution and a few other significant features such as a superior battery life.

HTC One M8 Prime was also supposed to have a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 (QHD) display, an 18MP lens, with the same duo camera setup and 5MP front-facing snapper. @evleaks had claimed that HTC One M8 Prime could be powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

Reports had also hinted at the handset being waterproof, with an aluminum and liquid silicone casing. Sources have reported that HTC One M8 Prime will be launched in September.

With HTC One M8 Prime apparently suspended with no definite release date, HTC buyers will have to make do with and look forward to the upgraded version of the company’s flagship smartphone, HTC One M8 Ace.
