According to some researches, it was found that almost 85% of the global smartphone market is held by Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) android smartphones and 12% by Apple’s (NASDAQ: APPL) iPhone and merely 2.5% by Windows phone.
After months of leaks and rumors HTC has finally released its HTC One Windows 8.1 smartphone. The device is unarguably a full feature phone coming bundled with all new Windows Phone 8.1 and Microsoft Cortana voice assistant.
The HTC One comes with following specifications: –

5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels.
16GB of internal storage.
microSD card support of upto 128GB.
UltraPixel camera on the back.
5MP front camera.
2600 mAh battery.
Windows 8.1 Update 1 as OS.

“Consumers love the HTC One (M8), and today’s introduction extends that enthusiasm to new audiences hungry for choice in their mobile experience,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC Americas. “HTC fills a gap in the market for unique devices that put a premium on form and function. Microsoft shares our vision and that’s why we committed to bringing the Windows Phone platform to the HTC One (M8).”

HTC one M8(Windows 8.1) will be on shelves from 19 August, 2014 noon.

“The HTC One (M8) for Windows is true to the flagship product’s award-winning design and unique experience while also taking the best of what Windows Phone has to offer,” said Darren Laybourn, corporate vice president of engineering for Microsoft. “We succeeded in offering customers the best of both our worlds with this phone.”

Both the devices are identical in design and specs; however, there is a slight difference in between the processor. In Windows 8.1 version the processor clocks at 2.3 GHz, whereas, Android one is having only a clock of 1.7 GHz.
