Along with the Nexus devices, the HTC One M8 has also made its way to the shelves of Google Play store. Tagged at a price $699, the HTC One is an unlocked GSM phone available there.

Unlike the other devices company has launched in the past, this new device follows up the trend of smartphones available at the Play store. The phone comes with an uncostumized Android OS like in Nexus. The OS has been not altered to change the user interface and kept other apps out of the way.

Google on the website said, “The Google Play edition phones automatically receive updates of the latest Android software,They’re “Optimized for the latest apps, more storage for your content, and a fast, clean user experience.”

Although its specs has been rumored a lot, here is what it actually holds. The phone with all-metallic body houses a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM with 16GB or 32GB of storage. Also having a microSD card slot, the external storage for this phone can be extended up to 128GB. The 5-inch screen of this phone has 16 million colors to display, it has a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels with a pixel density of around 441 ppi.

The phone has two 4MP cameras having a resolution of 2688х1520 pixels, although low on mega pixels the two cameras can capture lifelike pictures with depth and blurred out background.

But limiting these features only to Google Play edition, Google website stated, “Duo Camera features an Ultrapixel camera that is engineered with larger pixels to capture more light and a depth sensor to automatically measure the distance between objects, You can blur backgrounds and highlight your subject, change focus after you’ve taken your shot, and even add 3D-style dimension and depth.”

With HTC One M8 launched, other companies including Samsung are also launching their latest flagship of smartphones in few days.
