HTC is working on a smartwatch which is set to release in early 2015, reports CNET. Recently, Pocket-Lint said their sources familiar with the matter are saying that HTC was planning to release a smartwatch this year, but they decided to abandon the idea for a time being. It seems after the announcement of Apple Watch; HTC is getting ready to bring their smartwatch to horizon as well.
Taiwanese giant HTC is famous for making remarkable and elegant phones, like HTC One M7 and M8 are quite an example. HTC is known for their design and features, and the sources familiar with the matter are saying that HTC’s smartwatch will definitely stand out of the crowd. Peter Chou also mentioned once that HTC is working on ‘future projects’ and a smartwatch is one of them. His statement is another proof that they have a smartwatch in their pipeline.
The smartwatch market is growing and also getting tougher. The world’s most valuable company, Apple Inc. also made an entry in the market with their all new Apple Watch. It has its own unique feature, and it will be available in 2015. But on the other hand, there are a lot of Android Wear powered watches, like the Moto 360, LG G Watch R, ASUS ZenWatch, and Samsung is offering around six models as well. Smartwatches are considered as the ‘next’ big thing, and a lot of giant technology companies are attracted to it.
HTC will be entering a crowded market, and if HTC wants to make sure they stand out of the crowd, they have to offer what others can’t. Right now, nothing is said about the features of it, but I think it’s safe to say that an affordable price tag is something that a lot of Android Wear fans will be looking forward to.
