Motorola has officially unveiled their new line of devices for the fall session of 2014 during a conference at their HQ in Chicago. They introduced their new flagship smartphone, the Moto X, an affordable yet strong Moto G, and the anticipated smartwatch a lot of people are looking forward to, the Moto 360. Moto X will be available later this month, while the Moto G and Moto 360 are available right now.
The new Moto X is called a huge improvement over its predecessor, and it might be the best Motorola smartphone to date. Although the design is pretty similar to the first-generation Moto X, there are a lot of internal hardware changes and also a lot of more options to customize the smartphone. The new Moto X will be available in 25 colors, along with wood and leather back options. It will be running on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 5.2” (423 ppi) 1080p OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, MSM8974-AC 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 13 MP camera with a 2MP front facing camera as well, it also features front facing speakers, and a 2300 mAh battery.
Moto G is an affordable version of the Moto X, and Motorola calls it an exceptional phone with an “exceptional price”. The new Moto G is really similar to its predecessor but from the front side, it looks just like the Moto E. It features a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8-MP camera with 2MP front facing camera, it has a 2070mAh battery and it is running on Android 4.4.4. Unlike the first-generation version, the new Moto X is a ‘4G’ smartphone, and its LTE version will be released eventually. With a price tag of just $179, it seems like a fair deal.
Last but definitely not the least, the Moto 360 is a long awaited smartwatch. The new Moto 360 is available for $249.99, but not anymore as it was sold out right after few minutes of its online availability. We already know a lot about the Moto 360, but what we didn’t know was that a metal edition of the Moto 360 will be launched later this fall for $299. However, you can also buy leather bands and metal bands separately for $29 and $79 respectively.
Motorola Mobility is looking forward to a strong year ahead, and with such powerful devices on their boat, it might be safe to say that Motorola Mobility’s bad days are over now.
